Shine Salon: Rules for Operating Under Covid-19

We are open as of May 25TH under phase 2 of Mayor Cooper's 4-Phase guidelines to re-opening businesses.

We want to be very clear that we are taking your safety and that of our staff very seriously. Guidelines for salon operation during a pandemic include some MAJOR changes. We are working on creating the safest space possible and respectfully ask you to review our COVID-19 operating policies, which will temporarily, and significantly, alter the experience.

Please read completely through these new guidelines:

SOCIAL DISTANCING – We are splitting our service providers into shifts, our goal is to limit the salon to one customer at a time. If two clients are present, a minimum of 6 feet of social distancing will be observed.

MASKS – All of our staff will be required to wear masks. We require that you wear a mask to your appointment and we ask that you wear one that secures behind the ears. Please note that your mask may become wet or stained with color, depending on your service. We cannot remove or open our masks at anytime during the appointment. (This will make for some fun conversation, and interesting hair-cutting gymnastics!)

ARRIVAL – We ask that you arrive for your appointment at the time of your appointment and no earlier. Please wait in your vehicle until we text you that we are ready for you. Upon entering the salon, we ask that you wash your hands or use the hand sanitizer provided.

NO BLOW-DRYING & STYLING – Temporarily, we will not be doing any blow-drying in the salon in order to prevent forceful airflow of any germs.

TOUCHLESS GREETINGS & GOOD-BYES – We will not be shaking hands or hugging at this time.

TOUCHLESS CHECK-OUT – You will not be required to sign the Square app screen. If you would like to leave a tip, you may verbally indicate it, and we will input it and send you a digital receipt.

SANITARY DRAPING – Please come in freshly cleaned clothing. We will offer a freshly laundered cape for every service.

NO BEVERAGES – We will not be offering any beverages at this time and respectfully ask that you do not bring beverages or food into the salon – because, you know, masks.

LIMITED ITEMS – Please limit any belongings that you bring with you perhaps to your phone and forms of payment (rather than your handbag). You may also bring digital or limited hard-copy reading material as we will not be offering magazines at this time.

NO GUESTS – Please do not bring any extra guests with you and please do not bring children to your appointment at this time. Absolutely no pets will be allowed in the salon.

WELLNESS POLICY – If you have been ill or around someone who has, please cancel your appointment and wait 14 days to reschedule. If you arrive with any symptoms of illness, we will have to refuse service and re-schedule you to a later date. We will work with you to efficiently reschedule any appointments moved due to a lack of wellness. Please canecl your appointment if you:

  • Have any symptoms of COVID-19, including cough, fever or difficulty breathing;

  • Have been in close contact with anyone known or suspected to have COVID-19 in the last 14 days; or

  • Have been individually directed to self-quarantine or self-isolate by a health care provider or public health official within the last 14 days.

SANITATION PRACTICES – We are building in ample time in between clients to sanitize and wipe down all surfaces. We are incorporating extensive new and improved sanitation practices into every aspect of our operation, including certification in the Tennessee State Board Barbicide sanitation course.

We ask for your patience and understanding during this time as we are working quickly and very diligently to be both accommodating and conscientious to your needs.

Thank you so very much for your kindness and support during this difficult time in history. We look forward to seeing you in the salon soon!
